Senior AR Financial Analyst
Date: Jun 15, 2026
Location: Bucharest, RO
Company: DRiV
Job summary:
Senior Accounts Receivable Financial Analyst is a key contributor to the AR Credit and Collection process, working closely with Finance, Commercial and Treasury Teams but also with the BPO teams to prepare the AR forecast, to monitor the risks, to be involved in the escalation process, to act as Subject Matter Experts on credit policy, credit master or factoring programs.
Key responsibilities:
- Factoring Program Administration: Oversee multiple AR factoring programs in conjunction with Treasury and the BPO. Maintain a comprehensive view of which receivables have been sold to third-party factors, and ensure that the BPO’s processes (e.g., invoice transferring, cash application for factored invoices) are executed accurately. Reconcile factoring transactions – confirm that the sums advanced by factors correspond to invoices and that any residual balances (like recourse obligations or returned invoices) are tracked and communicated
- AR Forecasting: Challenge the cash collections forecasting process. The BPO will provide base AR collection forecasts (often by region or portfolio), but the AR Financial Analyst adds expert insight and validation. Use historical collection patterns, current aging profiles, and known business conditions (sales trends, seasonal cycles, large expected payments, etc.) to refine the forecasts and improve accuracy. Track forecast vs actual (forecast walk), analysing variances (e.g., identifying if shortfalls were due to specific customers or events), and feed lessons back to refine future forecasts
- Portfolio Aging & Delinquency Analytics: Oversee the analysis of AR aging and past-due receivables. Consolidate and interpret aging reports (from the BPO or AR systems) to identify trends in delinquency, collection effectiveness and root causes for past dues (e.g., disputes, process bottlenecks, customer behaviour). Highlight material changes (e.g., a rising 90+ days bucket in a region or customer segment) and act on remedial actions to reduce the overdues.
- Escalation of Collection Issues: Serve as escalation point for unresolved or high-impact collection issues. Ensure that any collection issues exceeding defined thresholds (e.g., significant past-due amounts, or repetitive issues flagged in daily/weekly ops calls) are escalated to the appropriate level (Sales, Business Unit Finance, Credit Committee). Lead the internal escalation, preparing an analysis of the exposure and potential outcomes to support a negotiation or management decision
- AR Reporting: Perform analysis and reviews on a recurrent basis to ensure data serve the business stakeholders. Adjust reporting framework based on the stakeholders feedback
- Review deductions dashboards (by customer, reason code, aging) to pinpoint systemic issues and quantify their impact on AR. Facilitate cross-functional discussions with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to address underlying root causes and reduce deduction occurrences
- Ad-Hoc Analysis & Senior Management Requests: Act as primary finance analyst for AR when senior management or business need specific analysis. Use advanced analytical techniques if needed to support data-driven decisions. Ensure rapid turnaround and high-quality responses to ad-hoc requests given the heavy volume and urgency of such queries.
- Continuous Improvement Collaboration: Collaborate with the BPO and internal Global Services - Finance leadership on initiatives to improve AR processes and performance. Provide analytical support and business cases for automation opportunities (e.g., AI-based collections prioritization, improved credit scoring models) and process enhancements.
- Audit support: Provide requested information to auditors or coordinate gathering data from different teams
- Credit management: review and update the credit limits on annual basis
Requirements:
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in finance roles, with at least 4-5 years specifically in Accounts Receivable, Credit Management, or related fields. Prior AR experience in a shared services or outsourced environment is highly desirable, as is exposure to high-volume, global AR portfolios (Americas focus but also EMEA/APAC experience)
- Accounts Receivable & Credit Expertise: Deep understanding of AR processes (Order-to-Cash), including collections, credit analysis, cash application, deductions, factoring and AR forecasting. Strong grasp of credit risk principles and familiarity with tools like D&B reports, credit scoring, and factoring mechanisms. Able to interpret AR aging, DSO, and related metrics and know how to influence them
- Analytical & Data Proficiency: Exceptional analytical skills with ability to manipulate and analyse large data sets (using Excel, SAP, and BI tools (Power BI). Able to derive meaningful insights and trends from data – e.g., detecting patterns in late payments or the impact of a new policy on AR. Experience with forecasting techniques and financial modelling to support scenario analysis
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, BI tools (Power BI and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP). Experience with AR workflow or collection tools, and understanding of any special systems (e.g., factoring platform, etc.).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an exceptional attention to detail to identify discrepancies and investigate complex issues.
- Soft Skills: The ability to lead without formal authority is key – this role influences an extended team (both internal and BPO) and must gain respect through expertise and collaborative leadership. Excellent English communication skills are essential (written and verbal); additional language proficiency (especially Spanish language) is a plus given global scope.
