The Group Product Snr. Manager will be an extension of the LV US / CA Product Team offering global, scalable support in efforts to create additional effectiveness across multiple time zones. This role will manage multiple direct reports to achieve the objective.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate/analyse competitive market offerings & maintain understanding of key market drivers, issues and players in assigned markets - use comparisons to identify optimum positioning for company products.
- Develop product line(s) strategies to ensure achievement of strategic revenue and margin objectives for the designated product(s) in line with product plans.
- Carry out on-going technology assessment within the context of the competitive landscape, taking a proactive role in the product design to ensure the product is differentiated from key competitors.
- Carry out regular category sales analysis and map against forecast for management review.
- Partner with company Engineering/Development, Supply Chain, Pricing, Purchasing and 3rd party suppliers as appropriate to communicate product requirements and determine viable development strategies, deliverables, and release dates and support optimum availability/inventory and profitability levels.
- Monitor and develop products throughout all stages of product life cycle: Gap analysis, Virtual Gap closure, NPI development, SAP implementation, and post-release activities including bulletin notifications, database update, forecasting, stock category changes and range deletions.
- Manage product sourcing activities, where appropriate, in conjunction with Purchasing to ensure competitive cost base and to maximize range coverage.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales turnover by implementing pricing adjustments where needed, in conjunction with the Pricing team.
- Work closely with the Data team to ensure all product and application data is kept up-to-date and accurate in the master database – PMD and regularly output to our electronic catalogues systems.
- Take a key support role in the catalogue production process – particularly in data provision, data checking, and page proofing), develop layouts, and support the production of catalogues for all media in line with the annual catalogue plan.
- Team with Sales, Technical Service, Product Development, Engineering and other key Marketing team members to develop, market, sell and deliver the Product proposition in accordance with the Marketing Plan.
- Perform ongoing win/loss analysis to better understand the features required for sales success.
- Manage product launches including the provision of sales, marketing, competitive, and positioning collateral materials.
- Develop presentation material to support product and marketing strategy development for management, sales teams, training departments & customers.
- Lead efforts to improve our product launches process and drive successful introductions of new product lines, range extensions and innovations that fuel our growth
- Speed up go-to-market efforts and support market share gain
- Monitor and control the KPI’s and identify the opportunities and corrective actions
- Improve and roll-out of processes, both internal and external
- Lead the team of product specialists
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
- BA in Business, Engineering, Finance, Economics or Marketing preferred.
- Other 4 yr. Degrees are also acceptable with appropriate translatable experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ yrs. Professional Experience in Product Management, Sales or Marketing in a Senior Management position
- Automotive experience
- Experience with New Product Lines Launches in a fast-paced environment
REQUIREMENTS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Project management experience
- Certification in Project Management is a plus
- High Level Communication skills
