The Indirect Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing strategic purchasing activities across multiple indirect categories, ensuring cost efficiency, supplier performance, and compliance with internal policies. This role requires strong analytical skills, contract management experience, and the ability to lead negotiations with local and international suppliers.

The professional will work closely with cross‑functional teams such as Operations, Logistics, Finance, and Legal to support business needs and drive continuous improvement in purchasing processes.


Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Category Management

  • Manage the full procurement cycle for indirect materials and services.
  • Lead category management initiatives across MRO, services, IT, facilities, freight, and logistics.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance.
  • Conduct market research, spend analysis, and supplier benchmarking to support strategic decisions.

Supplier Negotiation & Relationship Management

  • Lead strategic negotiations with suppliers, ensuring favorable commercial terms.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure service excellence and risk mitigation.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities and drive performance improvements.

Contract Management

  • Draft, review, and manage contracts and commercial agreements across assigned categories.
  • Interpret contractual clauses to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
  • Collaborate with Legal to support contract revisions and ensure compliance with company standards.

Logistics & Freight Procurement

  • Conduct negotiations and contracting for freight and logistics services.
  • Ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) and compliance standards are met.

Cost Optimization & Process Improvement

  • Drive initiatives focused on cost reduction, savings, and cost avoidance.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Track performance through KPIs and prepare reports for leadership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams such as Production Planning (PCP), Logistics, Finance, and Legal.
  • Support demand clarification, budget alignment, and project‑based procurement needs.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies (RFI, RFQ, RFP).
  • Advanced skills in contract management, drafting, and clause analysis.
  • Experience monitoring procurement KPIs and supplier performance metrics.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, dashboards, financial analysis).
  • Experience with SAP ERP or similar systems.
  • Advanced English, especially for supplier negotiation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in indirect purchasing, category management, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Strong analytical thinking and decision‑making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in multinational environments.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
