Position Summary
The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in managing the company’s financial and accounting activities. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information and assists with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and management requirements.
2. Accounting Management
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain general ledger integrity.
3. Internal Controls
- Support the design and implementation of internal control procedures.
- Ensure safeguarding of company assets and regulatory compliance.
4. Budgeting and Forecasting
- Collaborate in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.
5. Compliance
- Ensure adherence to accounting principles, legal regulations, and internal policies.
6. Audit Support
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Prepare documentation and respond to auditor inquiries.
7. Financial Analysis
- Conduct analysis of financial data and trends.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management.
8. Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to optimize accounting processes.
- Implement efficiency-enhancing initiatives.
9. Team Supervision
- Supervise junior accounting staff in areas such as AP, AR, and general accounting (if applicable).
10. Cross-Departmental Communication
- Communicate financial information clearly to management and other departments.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- Master’s degree or MBA focusing on Accounting (preferred).
- 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
- CPA certification (preferred or required depending on employer).
- Bilingual English / Spanish
