DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Accountant Supervisor will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day accounting consolidation, ensuring accuracy of financial records, reporting to corporate, and driving continuous process improvements. This position involves supervising a team, managing complex accounting consolidation processes. Close communication and teamwork with Taxes department for electronic accounting.
- Team Supervision: supporting GL Supervisor with supervision of a team of GL accountants and subject matter experts, providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure high standards of accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting
- Journal Entries: Oversee the preparation, calculation, and posting of complex journal entries, ensuring adherence to accounting principles and company policies.
- Financial Reporting: Load/Supervise financial data into OneStream, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Review and ensure the timely completion of balance sheet account reconciliations, analyzing discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Intracompany reconciliation, analysis and reporting of aged items
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the GL function. Lead initiatives to streamline accounting consolidations.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Develop and provide training to the team - workshops, lessons learned sessions, and refresher programs related to the systems and tools implemented and used across the Finance function
- Ensure compliance with company policies & procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
Skills / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. National or International accounting certification is preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in GL accounting or relevant finance roles, with a strong background in accounting and reporting; US GAAP knowledge is a plus
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Compliance and Ethics: In-depth understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and internal controls, with a strong commitment to maintaining ethical practices and confidentiality
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and financial consolidation tools such as OneStream. Strong Excel skills are essential
- Excellent English skills – written + verbal.
