EHS Engineer
1. General Information
- Position title: EHS Engineer
2. Position Objective
- Execute and oversee compliance with Safety and Environmental programs (legal and corporate requirements), incident prevention, critical risk control, and strengthening the safety culture in operations.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Identify hazards and conduct risk assessments.
- Conduct safety walks and inspections.
- Investigate incidents and accidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Follow up and close corrective and preventive actions.
- Follow up on safety programs (LOTO, PIV, Machinery).
- Manage and control contractors regarding safety requirements.
- Implement engineering and administrative controls and ensure proper use of PPE.
- Supervise high-risk work.
- Manage and control contractors on safety matters, including on-site verification of contractor compliance.
- Ensure compliance with NOM-STPS standards and applicable environmental regulations.
- Prepare for internal audits, support external audits, and support government authority visits.
- Document control.
- Develop and deliver EHS training.
- Provide EHS induction for new hires.
- Coordinate emergency brigades and drills.
- Promote safety culture campaigns.
- Operational control of hazardous waste and special handling waste management.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 systems.
4. Position Profile
- Education: Industrial, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Preferred: Specialty or diploma in Occupational Safety and Health.
- Experience: 3+ years in EHS positions.
- Knowledge of NOM-STPS standards and environmental legislation.
- Experience in risk assessment and incident investigation.
- Microsoft Office proficiency (intermediate Excel).
- English Proficiency
