Global Manufacturing Manager
Location: Global / Multi-site
Reports to: VP Operations / Global Operations Director
Position Summary
The Global Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing manufacturing operations across multiple international sites. This role ensures operational excellence, cost efficiency, quality compliance, and continuous improvement while aligning global manufacturing strategy with overall business objectives.
The position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive standardization, performance, and collaboration across diverse cultures and regions.
Key Responsibilities
Global Operations Leadership
- Lead manufacturing activities across multiple plants and regions.
- Develop and deploy global manufacturing strategies aligned with company goals.
- Drive standardization of processes, KPIs, and best practices worldwide.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Own safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity metrics (SQDCP).
- Lead Lean / Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Identify operational gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Support capacity planning and footprint optimization.
Plant Support & Development
- Partner with Plant Managers to achieve operational targets.
- Provide coaching and leadership development to site manufacturing teams.
- Support new product launches, transfers, and ramp-ups.
Financial & Strategic Management
- Manage global manufacturing budgets and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Drive capital investment planning and ROI analysis.
- Support make/buy decisions and long-term manufacturing strategy.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with global quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all locations.
- Lead corrective action plans for major quality or operational issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, HR, and Finance.
- Support customer requirements and operational readiness.
- Participate in executive reviews and global governance forums.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including multi-site or global operations.
- Strong background in Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement.
- Proven experience managing large teams across regions.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing finance and operational KPIs.
- Fluent English required; additional languages a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally (30–50%).
