Job Summary:
We are seeking a Tax Manager to lead and manage the company’s tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities in Mexico. This role ensures compliance with local tax regulations while supporting strategic initiatives to optimize the company’s effective tax position. The Tax Manager will work closely with internal finance teams, external advisors, and corporate tax leadership to maintain accuracy, reduce risk, and drive tax-related process improvements.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Mexican tax regulations, experience in a multinational manufacturing environment, and fluency in professional-level English to support coordination with global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all direct and indirect tax compliance activities for Mexico, including income tax, VAT, and withholding taxes.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns and support statutory financial reporting requirements.
- Lead preparation and coordination of tax audits, working closely with legal and external advisors.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and assess their impact on the business; implement necessary changes to processes and controls.
- Partner with corporate and regional tax teams to ensure alignment with global tax policies and strategies.
- Provide guidance on tax implications of business transactions, including intercompany arrangements and transfer pricing.
- Support tax planning initiatives to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring full compliance.
- Maintain robust internal controls related to tax processes and ensure documentation is audit-ready.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of tax operations.
- Support ad-hoc tax projects and requests from leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Tax or Legal specialization preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of tax experience, preferably in a multinational or manufacturing environment.
- Deep understanding of Mexican tax regulations and local compliance requirements.
- Fluency in professional-level English is required for coordination with global teams.
- Experience working with tax authorities and managing audits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax software; SAP experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work across functions and geographies.
