The Distribution Center Manager plays a leadership role in the Integrated Business Planning process and drives alignment with cross-functional partners such as manufacturing, sales, marketing, finance, customer service and procurement to enable world-class delivery.

Scope:

As a key member of the Global Supply Chain, the Distribution Center Manager will provide leadership and direction; contribute to enterprise-wide growth through the sharing of best practices and leveraging knowledge; understanding the business environment and using appropriate tactics to drive results and deliver continuous improvement; and developing long term strategies that are scalable, increase customer satisfaction and provide long-term value for the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all transportation inbound and outbound including small pack/parcel, LTL and full truckload.
  • Develop and implement long and short-term best cost strategic business plans that meet trade partner and distributor requirements worldwide. Includes systems and procedures that drive continuous improvement in fulfillment, compliance, productivity and working capital through systems, processes and people.
  • Design, develop and deploy support tools and models for shipment optimization, shipment monitoring and financial analysis/tracking across the supply chain.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to Integrated Business Planning Process to improve demand-planning process.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performance organization that strives for high levels of quality and service.
  • Support new business and channel growth by working closely with senior leadership team to insure service levels, capability and capacity are in place.
  • Execute innovative solutions to opportunities as they develop.
  • Utilize continuous improvement tools to focus on root cause along with analytical reporting and tools to identify areas of opportunity and process improvement.
  • Great understanding of the entire supply chain across the globe and the ability to continuously implement improvements to allow for best cost, improved quality, and reduced lead-times.
  • Leverage leadership abilities, contributing to many operational discussions outside of logistics

 

Leadership Requirements:

  • Confidence to be an agent of change and willingness to implement new ideas and drive results
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage conflict to resolution
  • Effective management of priorities, expectations and accountabilities
  • Proven record of attracting and developing talent

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • BS required in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, IE, or Business; MBA preferred
  • Extensive experience in logistics and warehousing with a manufacturer, retailer or 3rd party logistics company; non-union leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying and implementing best in class logistics solutions
  • Proven financial skills. Ability to conduct trade off analysis and make decisions concerning multiple courses of action
  • Proven ability to work with program management to implement significant change.
  • Ability to develop professional presentations and persuade stakeholders to invest in “World Class” logistics operations
  • Excellent with problem resolution to deliver what’s best for the entire business
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand capacities and capabilities of the supply chain and maintain a system that stays ahead of customer demand
  • A proven TEAM player!
  • Lean/Six Sigma/TPS skills and experience a plus
  • Experience driving Operational Excellence initiatives
  • Proven ability to drive initiatives that support change
  • Proven creative problem-solving techniques
  • Self-disciplined with high level of motivation
  • Must possess exceptional leadership and management abilities with the desire to grow
  • Proven experience driving sustainable results in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost

  • Detailed knowledge of applicable technical regulatory and professional standards
