Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead in the development of commodity strategies, sourcing activities and lead project implementation.
- Become a subject matter expert in commodities managed.
- Implement and execute KPI’s related to Savings, Contracts, Payment Terms, Quality and Inventory.
- Work directly with the Purchasing Manager to develop a budget plan.
- Report and track progress to budget on a monthly basis.
- Oversee project management duties to ensure timely execution of budget related projects.
- Prepare and send RFQ/RFIs for benchmarking activities, strategic projects, spot buys, and no source situations.
- Perform financial analysis of RFQ results to determine overall cost competitiveness.
- Maintain consistent communication with suppliers to build strong relationships.
- Ensure invoice issues do not adversely affect supplier relationships.
- Lead supplier meetings and negotiations.
- Work with cross functional teams to ensure sourcing decisions meet technical and quality specifications.
- Attend meetings as required to support or represent Purchasing Manager.
- Updating systems (price list, part numbers, vendor master data change requests, etc.)
- Contract negotiations and closing the gaps to close contracts.
- Maintain spending checkbook and review with Management team regularly to ensure budgetary conformance
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business / Supply Chain/ Engineering / Logistics
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement and/or Materials Management, preferred Demonstrated background and proven experience with independently managing spend and a vendor base.; Experience implementing and driving total cost savings initiatives is required.

- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
- Strong project management skills, including stakeholder, timeline, and meeting management skills.
- Strong negotiation skills; expert understanding of terms, conditions, and contracting techniques for managing risk.
- Self-confidence and clarity of expression to lead discussions with internal executive audiences, and challenge current practices.
- Able to work up, down, and across a large organization; connects at all levels, i.e., operations, management, executives.
- A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate him/herself and others; easily accepts constructive input from others.
- Fluent in English
