Position Summary:

The Senior Planner is responsible for the execution of an effective supply plan for their assigned product lines, based on demand forecast and variability, supply planning activity, and managing vendor performance. This role is hands-on as it relates to SKU specific execution, including master data management and planning for demand variability and supply constraints (internal and external), to drive finished goods inventory levels and fill rate performance. The role includes coordinating with the manufacturing, purchasing, distribution, transportation and finance teams to plan effectively, and includes the requirement to reliably forecast inventory and fill rate performance and the ability to identify improvement opportunities and drive improved performance.  The role carries primary KPI responsibility for overall material availability (Fill Rate performance), Inventory performance (Dollars, DOH, DOS) and Vendor Performance (OTD, Fill Rate, Inventory) for assigned product lines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Develop and execute an optimized supply plan that meets customer demand at optimal inventory levels
  • Facilitate unique data analyses to support key projects
  • Participate in monthly SIOP planning to fully align supply with demand
  • Manage supplier performance to ensure outstanding customer service levels
  • Develop and execute inventory plans that supports budget and targeted inventory DOS for assigned products
  • Develop and execute the appropriate FG supply planning policies by item class to meet product line expected demand variation, capacity and material constraints
  • Utilize exception-based reporting to take action on potential risks to the supply plan, include expediting, de-expediting, prioritizing and escalating to supply planning leadership and/or other functional areas
  • Demonstrate a streamlined planning approach of management by exception
  • Proactively detect and resolve issues that may result in supply disruptions.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as required for effective communication
  • Analyze root causes of inventory and fill rate performance issues and implement effective countermeasures to future misses
  • Working knowledge of the following preferred:
    • ABC/XYZ Inventory Classifications
    • NPI/End of Life Cycle Management
    • Capacity analysis

 

Qualifications - Required Skills:

  • Experience using SAP, Kinaxis or other ERP statistical software packages.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong problems solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and promote and embrace a team atmosphere
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and requests with an appropriate sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated competency in the Microsoft Office applications

Desirable Educational / Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or Finance
  • 2-5 years related experience in supply planning, master scheduling/MRP, forecasting, or capacity planning
  • Operations experience with knowledge in capacity, master scheduling and production planning
  • ASCM (Association of Supply Chain Management) CPIM certification
  • Aftermarket experience
