DUTIES:
- Manage new product introduction and product maintenance projects for purchased complete braking components, including brake rotors, brake drums, brake calipers, hydraulic components, and related assemblies.
- Lead cross-functional project activities from concept through launch, ensuring achievement of quality, cost, timing, and performance objectives.
- Review, approve, and release engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate product validation activities, including laboratory testing, vehicle testing, durability testing, and performance evaluations.
- Review and approve test plans, test reports, and engineering validation results.
- Support supplier selection, qualification, and ongoing performance management.
- Perform engineering reviews of supplier drawings, process changes, material changes, and deviation requests.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Product Management, Sales, and suppliers to ensure successful product launches.
- Ensure compliance with applicable automotive standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5+ years of engineering experience in automotive, aftermarket, OE, or industrial product development.
- Experience managing engineering projects involving purchased components or assemblies.
- Knowledge of braking systems, chassis systems, suspension systems, or related automotive products.
- Ability to interpret and approve engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles and interpretation per applicable standards.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office 365.
- Ability to analyze engineering data and make technically sound decisions.
- Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Experience specifically with aftermarket brake components and braking systems.
- Knowledge of automotive quality systems and standards, including AIAG methodologies.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, and SPC.
- Familiarity with automotive materials including cast iron, steel, aluminum, friction materials, and elastomers.
- Experience conducting supplier audits and manufacturing process assessments
- Knowledge of aftermarket cataloging and vehicle application validation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Advanced GD&T certification.
- Training in APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and automotive quality core tools.
- Training in supplier quality management, auditing, and root cause analysis methodologies.
