Job Summary:
Maintain inventory accuracy by verifying product and quantities in warehouse locations. Responsible for all assigned tasks relating to inventory control, including maintaining inventory counts and communicating inventory discrepancies to Operations Management. Ensures compliance to inventory processes and procedures, and contractual obligations. The main purpose of the position is to ensure that all inventory is accurately maintained at above 98,5%, by verifying different products and their quantities, and that they are stacked in the correct locations in the Warehouse. The incumbent will also be required to undertake a variety of assignments related to inventory control, and which will include but not be limited to, cycle counts, annual stock counts and reporting any discrepancies to Operations Management. Compliance with normal inventory control procedures, administrative duties for quality assurance purposes as well as the overall alignment with the Company’s operational strategy (P3) will be paramount in the course of execution of duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must comply with all EH&S regulations for the protection of the environment and maintain safe working conditions;
- Policies, procedures, and work instructions must be adhered to for quality assurance and customer satisfaction;
- Prepare and analyze reports regarding inventory balances, overages and shortages;
- Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis;
- Compiles, verifies, and reports periodic statistical information to management regarding trends in customer escalations as related to inventory;
- Assists in developing solutions to shortages, overages and inventory discrepancies;
- Manage the inventory workflow by conducting cycle counts;
- Researches misplaced or unaccounted for product;
- May assist with training other employees as directed by Shift Lead or Supervisor;
- Perform all other duties as assigned;
- Manage and control annual stock take to 99.6% accuracy;
- Set up stock take dates and teams;
- Communicate stock take timing to all stakeholders;
- Acquire all resources necessary for a successful annual stock take;
- All variances accounted for;
- Ensure all IS requirements are fulfilled for stock take;
- Manage and control inventory cycle counting stock take to 99.6% accuracy;
- Manage daily and monthly adjustments;
- Conduct Audits on Stock on hand;
- Daily Stock on Hand Report;
- Weekly Cycle count report to DC Manager;
- Annual stock take report communicated to all stakeholders;
- Ensure all Material Handling Equipment are in working order;
- Ensure all personnel operating MHE are fully licensed.
Education/ Experience/ Skills:
- Minimum 3 year tertiary qualification in logisitcs;
- Minimum 3 – 5 years experience warehouse and inventory processes;
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to manage a team;
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs;
- Knowledge of SAP/WMS, SAP EP1 and understand workflow processes and procedures;
- High level of computer competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Warehouse Management Systems;
- Ability to interface with all levels of the organization in a professional manner. Be able work independently and possess good organizational skills;
- Attention to detail and accuracy;
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations;
- Ability and willingness to work alternative shifts as required;
Physical Demand & Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be exposed to heights and may occasionally need to lift and/or move heavy objects. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
