Design & Development

  • Assist in the design and modification of aftermarket components.
  • Prepare and update engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications.
  • Participate in benchmarking, reverse engineering, and product teardowns.
  • Support design validation activities for pistons, rings, brake pads, shocks, and chains.

2. Testing & Analysis

  • Conduct component-level and system-level tests (dimensional, material, performance, durability).
  • Perform failure analysis and assist in root-cause analysis (RCA).
  • Prepare detailed test reports, data interpretation, and improvement recommendations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external testing facilities for friction, wear, damping, hardness, and metallurgical tests.

3. Quality & Compliance

  • Support APQP/PPAP documentation, FMEA updates, and process validation.
  • Ensure engineering outputs meet quality and industry standards (ISI, BIS, AIS, JASO, ASTM, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Quality team to address field failures and warranty issues.

4. Supplier & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Support vendor development activities including feasibility studies and sample approval.
  • Collaborate with the Purchase, Sales, and Marketing teams for technical clarifications.
  • Ensure timely communication of engineering changes (ECN/ECR).

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain engineering logs, drawing archives, BOMs, test records, and change history.
  • Prepare technical presentations and reports for management review.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, or Production Engineering.

Experience

  • 1–5 years of experience in automotive aftermarket or OEM components preferred.
  • Fresh graduates with strong technical aptitude may also be considered (if required).
  • Experience with pistons, piston rings, friction materials, suspensions, or chain components is a strong advantage.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of automotive components, material properties, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD).
  • Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and engineering calculations.
  • Basic knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and ISO/TS standards.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and documentation discipline.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Travel

  • Willingness to travel to supplier manufacturing sites, customer locations, and testing facilities (10–25%).
