ALCANCE: The Purchasing Manager position will lead the purchasing function in a high volume, team oriented, automotive manufacturing environment providing long-term planning to support purchasing and plant objectives, material savings and enhanced supplier performance. As the Leader for direct material and finished good sourcing, define the short- and long-term strategies in conjunction with corporate purchasing to achieve business unit and purchasing goals/objectives. Coordinate teams and actions cross functionally and across various levels of the organization to support sourcing initiatives, in MX & South America.
RESPONSABILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
• Develop and execute sourcing activities and cost savings project implementation
• Research currently used and alternative available materials to propose alternatives
• Maintain consistent communication with key suppliers
• Manage key projects with cross functional teams
• Develop supplier contracts and work with internal counsel to finalize all language including but not limited to; risks or commitments to indemnification, confidentiality, trademarks, insurance
• Perform financial analysis of RFQs(request for quotation) including but not limited to piece price, labor, overhead, transportation and overall financial health of suppliers
• Work with suppliers regarding payment issues
• Negotiate quarterly VAVE(value analysis.value engineering) and rebate savings
• Manages purchasing personnel; includes coaching/mentoring and development as necessary
• Define commodity strategies for to achieve corporate, purchasing and business line goals/objectives. Should include supply base rationalization, development & spend management/segmentation for geographic considerations, Best Cost Country (BCC), BU specific needs
• Support local, internal stakeholders to drive main initiatives and projects
• RFx - Responsible for end to end management of the sourcing process through collaboration and consultation with business stakeholders and corporate leads where necessary

• Contract Management – Prepares and maintain contracts with national/regional service providers in accordance with corporate standards and purchasing strategies
• Partner with the legal to manage contract preparation
• Review and manage category spend and identify opportunities for cost improvements without negatively impacting quality of service or product
• Create, implement and monitor local KPI’s for purchasing such as material savings, vendor delivery performance, DPO. Develop year-over-year cost reductions and countermeasures as appropriate
• Understand and develop commodity Business Plan, forecast and strategic plan for various spend categories and suppliers
• Participate in development of annual purchasing business plans; Identify and execute projects for savings to meet Business Plan
• Develop Supplier Partnerships/Strategic Alliances as necessary to support/enhance vendor performance for the manufacturing plant
• Manage cross-functional teams to execute projects
• Capitalize on all purchasing opportunities to create the highest leverage across commodities
• Set negotiation strategy and direction for commodity negotiation settings, include appropriate team members
• Enforce DRiV supplier requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years experience in Purchasing/Procurement/Product related field; automotive and/or automotive aftermarket experience a plus
• Demonstrated background and proven experience with multiple level supplier negotiations and supply base management
• Understanding and execution of supplier contracts
• Development and execution of commodity strategies with proven results towards business goals and objectives
• Experience in efficiently managing large amounts of data including gathering, analysis and recommendation
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, SAP. Minimum of 5+ years experience in Purchasing/Procurement/Product related field; automotive and/or automotive aftermarket experience a plus
