Position Summary
Responsible for identifying and executing sustainable improvements to production equipment, maintenance & building systems, and maintenance procedures/processes to increase reliability of the overall manufacturing processes and building operations. Work is of a technical nature and will involve engineering skills, project management, as well as data interpretation to identify opportunities for improvement. Will represent the maintenance department in cross-functional team problem-solving and equipment improvement/upgrade activities. Will provide technical support to engineering, production, and a group of multi-function skilled trade employees (mechanical and electrical) in an area of work which involves the repair, maintenance and improvement of manufacturing process equipment and building/site needs.

- Manages assigned projects to drive sustainable improvements in production equipment reliability/performance, building/site infrastructure systems, and maintenance team operational effectiveness
- Manages projects to established budget and timing
- Adheres to and reinforces safe working practices
- Performs equipment/system failure RCM and RCA
- Performs predictive assessments and problem diagnosis of process equipment
- Works with maintenance leadership to develop standardized processes and procedures for maintenance teams to follow
- Reads and interprets OEM equipment manuals and schematics
- Follows-up with vendors and contractors on maintenance issues
- Implements and supports continuous improvement projects
- Creates standardized work for maintenance tasks
- Sets and tracks KPI’s for maintenance operations
- Reviews and improves maintenance procedures, PM tasks, and opportunistic maintenance activities
- Identifies and prioritizes spare parts needs
- Maintains equipment documentation and drawing library
- Selects and procures project-related machine or building parts/services
- Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.
- Uses predictive technologies to drive uptime and improve the maintenance system and tracks improvement in MTTR, and MTBF and OEE
- Periodically reports progress and status on assigned projects to plant leadership
- Effectively utilizes computerized maintenance management systems (SAP PM)
Desirable Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 4+ years of relevant manufacturing experience with a preference for automotive. • Experience with CAD software
Skills:
- Effective project management skills
- Ability to develop creative solutions to challenging problems; perform strategic problem-solving
- Working knowledge of heavy industrial or manufacturing plant processes
- Ability to read and interpret machine and part prints (w/ GD&T)
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the plant
- Excellent attention to detail
- Working knowledge and understanding of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Project)
Travel:
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $75,000.00 to $120,000.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
