We are looking for a Quality Engineer. This role will be the first point of contact for our customers on quality related issues. In this role, you would be responsible for communicating the customer’s requirements to the team. Additionally, you would be working with all areas of the plant to ensure conformity to our customer needs. Besides working internally, also working with other Tenneco sites on various issues. Conducting internal and external quality audits will be a focus of this position.

You’ll first hear from someone in Talent Acquisition to schedule a phone screen, and then the next step will be a personal interview with our Hiring Manager. Responsibilities:
- Host Customer Visits/Audits and submit quality assessments
- Update customers in a timely manner regarding the status of quality requests
- Train and help guide the plant in identifying and developing problem solving methodologies to resolve quality issues.
- Assist and support the New Product Introduction (PPAP Submissions, APQP) programs for Tenneco at the site levels as required.
- Conduct internal audits of the quality management system
- Maintain list of customer related issues and drive for improvements
- Assist with various activities for the plant such as trainings, tours, etc.
- Develop and maintain various quality systems for document control, metrics, and excel based forms
- Support Continuous Improvement activities throughout the organization
- Understand customer specific requirements and how they translate to the plant
- Evaluate manufactured products for conformity
- Review supplier documentation for incoming products
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business or related field.
Skills & Experience:
- Two plus years of manufacturing quality experience.
- Strong quality documentation experience.
- Previous hands-on quality auditing experience.
- Knowledge of measurement tools (ie caliper, micrometer)
- Ability to read prints/ understand dimensional tolerancing
Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $80,000.00 to $115,000.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
