Strategic Pricing Analyst – Automotive Aftermarket, U.S. & Canada
Position Summary
The Strategic Pricing Analyst will support the development, execution, and continuous improvement of pricing strategies for the Automotive Aftermarket business across the United States and Canada. This role will partner closely with Sales, Product Management, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and IT to deliver data-driven pricing recommendations that improve revenue, margin, competitiveness, and customer profitability.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capability with commercial judgment, market curiosity, and the ability to translate complex data into clear business actions. This position will play a key role in evaluating market dynamics, competitive positioning, customer and product segmentation, price execution, and profitability opportunities across aftermarket channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain pricing analyses that support profitable growth across U.S. and Canadian Automotive Aftermarket customers, channels, and product categories.
- Analyze customer, product, market, cost, and competitive data to identify pricing opportunities, margin leakage, revenue risks, and growth potential.
- Support the design and execution of pricing strategies, including list pricing, customer-specific pricing, regional pricing, promotional pricing, rebates, discounts, and price adjustments.
- Partner with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Finance, and regional teams to research market prices, benchmark competitive positioning, and validate pricing assumptions across key aftermarket channels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop pricing strategies for new product line introductions, including launch pricing, target margin analysis, customer segmentation, competitive positioning, and regional pricing recommendations.
- Partner with Sales and Product Management to evaluate pricing requests, special quotes, customer agreements, annual price reviews, and contract renewals.
- Monitor competitive pricing, market trends, demand patterns, product lifecycle changes, and channel dynamics to recommend timely pricing actions.
- Conduct margin and profitability analysis by customer, product line, channel, region, and program to support business planning and performance management.
- Create dashboards, reports, and recurring performance metrics to track price realization, discounting behavior, margin trends, win/loss activity, and pricing compliance.
- Collaborate with Finance to assess revenue and margin impact from pricing actions, cost changes, currency exposure, and customer mix shifts.
- Work with IT and data teams to improve pricing tools, data quality, system automation, and reporting capabilities.
- Document pricing processes, approval workflows, assumptions, and recommendations to improve consistency, governance, and operational discipline.
- Present pricing insights and recommendations to business leaders in a clear, concise, and action-oriented manner.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Data Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in pricing, finance, revenue management, commercial analytics, sales operations, product management, or a related analytical role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and translate insights into business recommendations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data modeling, lookups, pivot tables, scenario analysis, and financial modeling.
- Experience with data visualization or business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of profitability drivers, including price, cost, volume, mix, rebates, discounts, and customer segmentation.
- Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience collaborating with Sales, Finance, Product Management, Operations, and IT teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Automotive Aftermarket, automotive parts distribution, OE service, wholesale distribution, retail automotive, or related industrial channels.
- Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian aftermarket market dynamics, including customer segments, distribution channels, competitive behavior, and regional pricing differences.
- Experience conducting market price research, competitive benchmarking, and channel price analysis to support pricing decisions.
- Experience supporting pricing strategy development for new product launches, line extensions, SKU expansions, or category growth initiatives.
- Experience with ERP, pricing, or commercial systems such as SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Vendavo, PROS, Zilliant, or similar platforms.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Alteryx, Python, or other data manipulation tools.
- Experience supporting annual price increases, cost pass-throughs, customer-specific pricing programs, rebate structures, or contract pricing.
